Umaga full of energy for Zero Harm

Tana Umaga has recently become a spokesperson for Contact Energy for their campaign called Zero Harm.

The campaign has been specifically designed for their employees and contractors to raise awareness about safety and wellbeing at work.  Contact is keen to lift their safety performance across their business as part of their drive towards Zero Harm.

Zero Harm is about people taking personal responsibility, thinking ahead, having safety conversations with others and looking out for their mates to ensure everyone goes home safely to their friends and family and the end of each working day.

During June and July, the Counties Manukau Steelers coach visited 15 Contact work sites across the country.  The sites included LPG bottle filling and distribution branches, electricity generation plants, call centres and offices where he met people and film a short video which will be played to the Contact Energy staff.

Umaga said “It’s been great to learn more about the energy industry and about some of the risks Contact’s people have to manage each and every day.”
